About us

Butler and Cook is a full service Industrial Machine Maintenenance provider with services including Machining and Fabrication of specialty parts, hydraulic rebuild and repair, and the abiltiy to process short and long run production jobs on our CNC lathes.

Butler and Cook was founded in Fort Smith Arkansas in 1969 by Kenneth Butler and Walter Cook. Butler and Cook was acquired by Chester Koprovic in 1985 and in 1990 merged Great Western Machine Shop into Butler and Cook.  In 2000, we moved to our current location at 7900 Ball Road in Fort Smith Arkansas, and are expanding with a dedicated Hydraulics building to be open first quarter 2007. Today, Butler and Cook is owned and operated by John (Toby) Koprovic who took over the business in 2004 and has maintained controlled steady growth.

Butler and Cook has built a reputation for providing the highest quality service at a very fair price. We have several employees that have been with Butler and Cook for over 20 years and are excited to have been a stable part of Fort Smith's economy for all these years. Current Management is committed to maintaining the skill of these craftsmen that has been gained over the years while looking to the future and adding the best, state of the art machines to better serve our customers.

With over 50 employees including some of the most skilled machinists, welders, and mechanics in the tristate area, we are proud to service many industries including steel making, food processing, oil field drilling support, as well as our local farmers, and heavy equipment operators.

Our facilities include a forty two thousand square foot Machine and Fabrication shop, and a new and separate seven thousand six hundred square foot Hydraulics parts and service building open March 2007. We are now the largest shop of our kind in the area specializing in emergency and general repairs and metal fabrication. We feel we can service all of your industrial and equipment maintenance needs.
